At the beginning of this month, Mr. Sawyer and I went to the Coronado National Forest on the Catalina Mountains, where I found a lot of cactus, to my surprise. In Kazakhstan, I see mountains full of fir trees. When we got to the top of Mt. Lemmon, which has a ski resort, but because of the lack of snow it works only weeks instead of months.
During the autumn break at school ( 1 week), we went to San Diego, CA, via Yuma, AZ. In Yuma I met Sasha Aladova, FLEX student from Pavlodar, from my country, and we had lunch together. In San Diego, we met LeRoy Sawyer, my host father's brother. While I was there, LeRoy took me (us) all over the city and showed me a lot of interesting places during our sightseeing tour.
A week after I came back from San Diego, AYUSA took its exchange students to Disneyland in California. Daniel Melyekhin, another FLEX student from Almaty, was on that trip too. There were several students from Russia and one from Ukraine, so we were able to refresh our Russian language. I had a great time there - Even if I did wipe out at the end !! I want to thank all the AYUSA staff who set it.
Halloween and a party came next. It took place at Haruka's house; she is an exchange student from Japan. We had a lot of fun there: scavenger hunt, trick or treat, scary story telling and watching cartoon show about being an exchange student.
In the 4 picture areas above, there are a lot of pictures, so take your time and watch one sequence at a time and enjoy the memories with me.
