Being in the USA for a couple of weeks, I decided to do community service. Since that time, I have been volunteering with Mrs. Gray. By the way, she was born on December 29th, 1904! The first day that I helped her, when she was showing me what and how to do some of the chores that I could help her with, her inability to do any of the tasks easily really had an impact on me! They were all so simple for me. Even though I have seen older people around all of the time, I have not taken notice of this type of problem before. I believe that people need to take care more of each other and especially, take care of elder people.

September is at the end of summer and the beginning of the football season (American Football, not Soccer). I also found out why the University of Arizona plays its football games in the evenings during this month. I mean, WOW, the temperatures are sure different here. One picture was taken at noon (38C or 103F) and it was not even the hottest time of the day!

Mr. Sawyer took me to several of the games. I was very excited as I watched my first real live football game. I learned many rules and ideas of the game, and finally understood it (Smiling)! On TV, they do not show everything. They have playbacks and all sorts of commentary and that's why I had a lot of mis- understandings in my mind about American football. Actually, I liked it. Even had my picture taken with the U of A Mascot!

At the end of the month, a group of delegates from Tucson-Almaty Sister Cities Committee (Mrs. Chinworth, Mayor Walkup of Tucson) visited my City (Almaty), where they met and had dinner with Altay (Mr. Sawyer's son last year) and his mother, my parents, younger brother and cousin.
