The month of May covers alot. Altay was given several awards at Amphitheater High School and had his Championship Chess Awards acknowledged to the School. Then a great dinner at the Chinworths. In the middle of the month, Tucson-Almaty Sister Cites Committee celebrated the awarding of degrees upon Aizhan Mamyrbayeba and Tatyana Spiegel from the University of Arizona. At the end of the month, we journeyed to Green Valley and met my Cousin, Donna, and her husband, Bill. Last picture also proves that Altya is in good shape, and, I needed more exercise.

The neighborhood kids talked Altay into trying skating late one evening. He gave it his all and was happy when he survived.

When school was over, we went to Golf'N Stuff and Altay loved the action race games. He also challenged me to a game of golf ... I think I won ? At any rate, he did several more races afterwards.

We went to the Gaslight Theatre several times during the month. Once for a lunch with the AYUSA Tucson Representative, Sherry Shen. When that was over, we visited the Gaslight Costume shop where Altay tried on various hats. I stayed with mine, and he didn't pick one, but did smile. The second time we were there was with Sheryal and Iyera who gave us bubble gum lessons. The camera malfunctioned on the picture I had of Altay's bubble.

As the month ended, a trip to Mt. Lemmon and the ski runs. The road was under improvement and all of the neat photographic stops were closed. Several pictures at the ski runs were about all we got. Came home and Altay showed me his break dance routine. Still pictures don't do it justice, but I was impressed.
