He is the High School Chess Champion of the State of 
Arizona !

1st Place in the Arizona State Scholastic Chess 
Championship held in 
Tucson, AZ on March 20-21, 2004.

"Altay Omarov, 16, is a foreign-exchange student from Kazakhstan and is
spending the year at Amphitheater High School. Omarov, a sophomore, won
the state high school championship."
