...film pals update --- Mon, 7 Nov 2005
The Tucson-Almaty Sister Cities Committee is happy to announce that our Film Pal project is a success! School 159 in Almaty created their films to send to Pueblo High in Tucson. Tapes were received in the fall of 2005.
Media teacher at Pueblo, Ms. Shapiro is excited to continue the Film Pals project and creating an ongoing relationship with the school in faraway Kazakhstan. When we began this project in August 2004, it seemed as if Ms. Shapiro and her students were just throwing a message in a bottle and hoping it would reach its destination and inspire the students there to share their lives on film. Now, a year later, we have had the pleasure of viewing their tapes.
