Madina with friends in Almaty

My name is Madina. I am from Kazakhstan and I am 23 years old. I was born with cerebral palsy and hydrocephalus. My disability stopped progressing, and I am trying to adjust and live my life to the fullest. I use a wheelchair. I am a student at the University of World Languages in Almaty, Kazakhstan. This year I will graduate with a BA degree in English. As I am a long distance student, studying mostly on my own, I do not have much of an opportunity to practice my English. I love the language, and I would like to continue my studies in this language in the USA. I want to study psychology at the University of Arizona. I like meeting new people, I like talking to people, sharing what I know, and learning from others. In the future I would like to work as a rehabilitation counselor and help young people with disabilities to find their way in life. I want to show my future students that they can live life even though they are disabled, I want to help them get rid of the fears common for those with disabilities, especially the young ones, and help them with advice in different life situations. I know that there are many psychologists in different fields, but I want to work with people like myself... people with disabilities. In the future, I want to work with people from many countries, and I hope that English will help me, as it is widely known that English is an international language. My family is big, we are not rich, and I cannot afford to study abroad. I will appreciate any help that will enable me to achieve my goal and realize my dream. - Kind regards, Madina
