People-to-People Diplomacy at its very best

In January of 2005, the Kazakh National Folk Ensemble responded to our invitation to come to Tucson to participate in the Family Arts Festival.  Their eleven-day stay in Tucson brought a breath-taking view of the traditional and ethnic beauty of Kazakhstan.  Over 3000 students in Tucson schools were able to see and hear the traditional side of Kazakhstan heritage while enjoying the music and ornate costuming of that ancient and rich culture. Both their public concert and their workshop at the University of Arizona were smashing successes.

This fundraising event will enable TASCC to fulfill one of their primary goals of “People-to-People Diplomacy through Education, Culture and Economic Development” by once again bringing a talented and representative group from our sister city of Almaty, Kazakhstan.  The ISKER ALMATY BOY’S CHOIR has performed is Russia, Austria, China, Germany and in many venues in Kazakhstan.
